What's in a Name?

SK                    ART
SK           ART
SK   ART
SK ART
SKART
Skart!!!

It just sort of rolls of the tongue, doesn't it? Like google or etsy? A new word to add to your vocabulary.

Skart/skå.rt/n 1:  A beatiful, handmade, eco friendly, sustainable, chic, artistic, crafty object.

Who am I kidding, the sound of Skart is sharp and harsh.  At first hearing it conjures up images of items run over and discarded by the side of the road.  It was available as a domain name. And I made a pretty logo.  And so now, I'm sticking with it. It has grown on me, as it will on you too.  And no, not grow like a fungus, but like a weed, yah, that's it, like a beautiful dandelion weed!

So, SK (my initials)+ making Art = Skart.  Love it or hate it, that's what it is.

A new blog, for a new era, and a new business.

I am not new to blogging.  I first blogged in 2004 when a friend of mine encouraged me to sign up with her and write nonsensical ramblings about nothingness--it didn't last long.  Then for a while I did really well at keeping up a blog with my husband: Where in the World are Tim & Sara. Times changed, we got a couple of cats, we stopped traveling as much and, well, the title didn't really seem to make sense. Tim & Sara were always in Los Angeles!

Okay, who am I kidding.  I discovered Facebook.  Facebook seemed so much easier.  Post a couple of pictures, write a few status updates and you are good to go.  It's a great way to connect with friends both recent and past and nobody can critique your grammar and spelling.   But, you can't really tell stories on facebook and my biggtest fans (ie: my mother and mother-in-law) are not on FB.

So,  I'm back.

Back to blog about the things I'm doing, plan to do and have done.   My online "Dear Diary" -- I will admit, blogging is a little egocentric and  mostly for myself, but I hope I can be interesting enough to entice a few regular readers to follow my adventures  and share their comments and thoughts.  This blog is not just about me it's about my art.  In fact it's really All About Skart.
