Singing Giraffes - A custom Request

I got a fun custom request for someone looking to give a special Christening gift.   She wrote me that, "Jackson liked Giraffes, singing and the color green".  I did a few sketches and this is the final we came up with.  I hope Jackson likes it!  If you have a custom idea you would like to explore please email me at: orders@skartshop.com

Custom Star Wars Skårt

I was recently commissioned to do a Warhol-esque version of Hans Solo's Blaster from Star Wars.  After much deliberation of color combos my client came up with the brilliant idea to simply use the color Palette from the movie.

Each color combo represents a character.

I spent a lot of December creating and filling custom orders. At the show I had a sample chart of colors as well as background options. People were excited to have the opportunity to change colors in the designs they liked in order to specifically match their rooms. One interesting request I had was to do a set of Poppy Poppies without the stems. It was for a baby boy and the mother loved the design but wanted something a little more abstract. She gave me a swatch of fabric to match for the background and a little dish to use to match the flowers. See the samples and results below.

Turn a song into Skårt

I was recently commissioned to create a custom designed gift for an expectant mother.  

The idea behind the design was to take the song "Real Love" (written by John Lennon), which had special meaning to the mother, and create a gender neutral work of art for the nursery.  

I decided to create a cute marsh themed pattern which could work for a boy or a girl, inspired by the look of henna tattoo designs. The result is a simple and sweet pattern that frames and highlights the lyrics of the song.
